Nominate A Storyteller
Are you a food changemaker, farmer, chef, cultural worker or producer, foodmaker or business owner, activist, herbalist, community organizer, educator (or something in-between) working to help rebuild a more just, resilient and connected foodsheds?
Would you like the opportunity to explore your own personal stories with the support of a skilled facilitator, and share your story with our ever-expanding Real Food Real Stories community? Or do you know someone who would?
Nominate yourself, or a food changemaker you know, to explore their personal story in one of our Story Workshops, a live storytelling gathering, or an upcoming episode of our podcast.
Our programs and events center those who are often marginalized in conversations about food, specifically Black folks, Indigenous peoples, people of color, immigrants, women, disabled community members, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. In addition to having the opportunity to share their personal stories with Real Food Real Stories’ diverse and growing community, all storytellers receive 1-on-1 story facilitation by our trained facilitators.
Past storytellers have called our facilitation “transformative,” and the experience of sharing their story of their journey with our community as “life-changing.” The storytelling process not only provides food changemakers and culture-bearers with a space to share and connect in community, but also to build the critical skills for dynamic storytelling to amplify their reach and impact through public events and media platforms, such as our podcast.
